Amplifying Women Voices
Through strategic communication and professional media production, we ensure that the voices of Burundian women and communities are heard, their stories are told with authenticity, and their initiatives receive the platform they deserve.
Our Communication & Media program operates as a transversal program that bridges and supports our Cultural Actions and Community Development initiatives. We leverage our expertise in communication strategy design and provide tailored communication tools adapted to the themes, issues, and audiences addressed in our other programs.
At the heart of our communication & Media ecosystem is Ingiro Media/Com, our professional production studio equipped with quality materials and staffed by trained, competent journalists. This studio serves as the production hub for our flagship program “Umukenyezi Iwacu” while also being made available to other external stakeholders, enabling them to produce well-crafted, documented programs ready for broadcast across media spaces and information platforms.
Content produced at Ingiro Media/Com is strategically distributed through media outlets and other information platforms, ensuring our messages reach the communities that need them most.

Our Flagship Radio Program
Umukenyezi Iwacu is our ongoing regular communication program in media and other information platforms focusing on the life of Burundian women in our communities. This program offers a dedicated space for information about Burundian women’s lives in our communities on a regular basis.
This space not only provides access to information about women’s lives but also serves as an exchange platform for experiences among women from different corners of the country, promoting their initiatives and projects within our communities.
Supporting our flagship program is our trained network of Women Reporters – 20 women, including 18 local agents established across the country’s 18 provinces (according to the former geographical division). These reporters regularly report information about women’s lives in their communities.
“By building this network, we ensure that women’s stories from across Burundi are told authentically, by women who understand the local context and challenges.“
With support from the European Union, Ingiro Action Center made the Umukenyezi Iwacu platform available for the 16 Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence.
Campaign Production: We developed 7 programs on themes addressing the types of violence women face in the community through:
“The programs were broadcast on various partner community radio stations to reach a broad audience, especially rural women who might otherwise lack access to this vital information.“
What are Women's Rights?
This is a campaign initiated by Ingiro Media/com through the Umukenyezi Iwacu show to help better understand International Women’s Rights Day.
15 programs were produced under this theme throughout the entire month of March 2025.
Our Women Reporters Network spans all 18 provinces of Burundi (according to the former geographical division), ensuring comprehensive coverage of women's experiences across the country.
