Miss Burundi finalists discuss their projects on Umukenyezi Iwacu

Miss Burundi 2025 finalists joined Umukenyezi Iwacu to discuss the pageant’s impact and the projects they hope to carry forward.

July and August 2025

Our programme hosted Miss Burundi finalists to discuss their projects, women’s leadership and community life with women supported by Ingiro.

The conversations covered the finalists’ projects, their commitments and the role a Miss can play in national development. In one session, the finalists spoke with rural women supported by Ingiro about the competition’s potential impact on the country and on the lives of women and girls. The candidates said they wanted their projects to benefit women beyond their home regions. The programmes aired on 7 and 11 July 2025, and a further studio conversation with the candidates followed in August.

The conversation brought finalists and women supported by Ingiro together to exchange perspectives.

In a separate studio visit, candidates described projects they hoped would benefit their communities, particularly women, and explained their initiatives beyond the usual image of the competition.
