Individual coaching for Run Town Ladies

An individual coaching session.

2024

We held a series of personalised coaching interviews with 12 members of Run Town Ladies in partnership with Rema Burundi, with support from Equity and Associates. Each woman could discuss her specific needs and the business project she wanted to pursue. In these individual conversations, we assessed those needs and worked with each participant to clarify her project, including the activity she hoped to develop. This gave us a clearer basis for responding to different priorities within the group.

Preparing to manage expected capital

With Equity and Associates, we provided credit-management coaching and guidance. The sessions also helped members prepare to manage the capital expected with support from Rema Burundi. We linked discussion of each business project with practical preparation for the financing the women were expected to receive.

Preparation mattered because the aim was to help the women benefit from this financing and use the expected capital effectively and sustainably. By considering each member’s needs alongside her chosen project, we focused the coaching on the activities she intended to develop rather than assuming one approach for everyone.

Kazi ya Mama

This work formed part of Kazi ya Mama, an initiative under our Community Development programme. Through the initiative, we support women’s groups engaged in low-income activities and work to strengthen their entrepreneurial activity.
