Mwanga+ uses artistic performances to share adolescent health information

Mwanga+ uses artistic expression to share information about sexual and reproductive health with adolescents and young people.

January and July 2026

The Mwanga+ artistic caravan uses music, theatre and interactive activities to share sexual and reproductive health messages with young people in Rutana’s Musenyi refugee camps.

Art and health information in the camps

The caravan’s first and second days featured performances in the Musenyi 1 and 2 camps in Rutana.

The Mwanga+ caravan brings health information and services closer to communities in Rutana.

Artists used music, theatre and interactive games to share prevention messages and encourage discussion. PSI Burundi and UNFPA are partners in the campaign, which aims to strengthen community communication and improve young people’s access to information and health services, alongside health districts and humanitarian partners. In July 2026, the caravan continued its work in the camps with further performances.
